Charanya Gurusathya the founder of Natyashala School of Bharatanatyam, Pune.She says " Dance is my passion, I wish to reach out to all sections of the society through my dance.”
Charanya Gurusathya is the Founder and Artistic Director of Natyashala School of Bharatanatyam, Pune . A professional Bharatanatyam Performing Artist, Teacher, Choreographer having performed in more than 500 dance festivals, she has experience in performing, rendering lectures and conducting workshops at USA, France, India and Germany for more than two decades. Natyashala is a premier institute for Indian Classical Arts in Pune,India founded in the year 2009.
She was initiated into Bharatanatyam under Smt.Padmini Ravi and later she continued her training under The Kirans of Bangalore. She is possessing a dual masters degree with an MBA(Human Resources) and Masters in Fine Arts, Bharatanatyam. She has to her credit many paper publications in International Journals ( Central European Journal of Sport Sciences and Medicine of Poland, UK Journal of Orthopedics ) and Indian dance forums like Narthaki, Classical Claps, Loud Applause, SAMVAAD, Narthanam. Her experience in performing and contribution to field of dance is indeed exceptional. She is pursuing research PhD in the field of dance.
Charanya’s passion for dance and the art community is commendable. Among many dance productions, the recent one in popular dance portal Indian Raga has received wide acclaim from world audience with over 50000 views and likes. She is currently presenting and curating ‘Digital Talk Series’ since June 2020 on topic “COVID-19 and way forward in Performing Arts.” Her interaction with dancers around the globe ( Australia, Bahamas,Italy, France, Argentina,India) is reaching more than 250 thousand views on social media platform.
She is working on DEED Project with Sutradhar, NGO, trying to make a little mark into the lives of underprivileged children, teaching them core values of life through dance. An active member of International Dance Council(CID) in partner with UNESCO, SPICMACAY, ABHAI, Coordinator of the Indian Classical Dancers Association (GLOBAL) and Coordinator of Griffin College London ( Pune-Mumbai Chapter) .
