Dr Aparna Pradhan a multitasking personality her motto in life is “Sail in the ship of ambition and anchor in the harbour of success".
Dr Aparna Pradhan, Doctorate in Zoology is a bilingual writer, author, poetess, moderator, and an artist.Her works adorn the walls of Raj Bhawan, Goa and prestigious houses in India and abroad.Creativity in any form gives her inner peace and she believes that creativity is an expression of the soul that opens the doorway to a happy memory lane, a treasure forever. Multi-talented Dr. Aparna Pradhan’s hobbies include reading, writing, singing, dancing, painting, embroidery and cooking.
She was introduced into the world of creativity especially writing and painting by her father Dr M. N. Saxena at a young age. She was regular contributor of articles and stories in her school and college magazines. Much later, she started writing for leading newspapers, magazines and journals.
She firmly believes that with the blessings of the Almighty and parents coupled with determination and hard work, one can achieve anything under the Sun. She had a burning desire to publish books and that was fulfilled when she authored her first book “एक अँजुरी ख़ुशबू”. Till date she has authored four books “एक अँजुरी ख़ुशबू”, “नारीत्व का अस्तित्व”, “हम… मैं और तुम” , “नारी अस्मिता” and two more books are under publication. Her paintings adorn the cover pages of all her books.

“Aum Gan Ganapataye Namah” and “Krishnashtak” are two anthologies that carry the cover painting done by her and articles in the prose section. Additionally, she has also authored several poems and articles in 45 other National and International anthologies. She has published more than 350 articles in leading newspapers, magazines, and Journals. She has written and composed songs. Many of her poems have been recited and awarded. She has been reciting her poems in Kavi Goshthi’s, both online and offline, and has been actively involved in moderating literary sessions on various platforms.
Besides, the Golden Book Award she has received many prestigious awards in the literary field. The Asian Literary Society honoured her with the Indian Women Achievers Award in Literature in 2022. She won the Wordsmith award many times for Hindi Poetry, English Poetry and Hindi Story. She is also the recipient of the prestigious Munshi Prem Chand Samman and Shabdakshar Samman.She is the proud recipient of the prestigious Golden Book Award 2023 for her book “नारीत्व का अस्तित्व” in the Women Empowerment Category and Asian Literary Society Best Debut Book award for her book “एक अँजुरी ख़ुशबू”.
Life size posters showcasing her poem “मेरी आवाज़ सुनो” have been displayed by the Forest Department, Government of Goa at public places to create awareness on importance of trees in saving Mother Earth and environment. As a student she received several awards in academics and cultural activities. She was awarded University medals for topping in B.Sc. (Hons School) and M.Sc. (Hons School). She is a proud recipient of the University Colour for the distinction as All-Round Best Student of the Panjab University, Chandigarh.

She did not take up a career in spite of great academic achievements. She devoted her time to the family and her creative pursuits. That was a very satisfying period and happiness pervaded all around as she basked in the glory and the achievements of her near and dear ones. She believes that sacrificing a professional career is not always a bad choice as one gets ample time to enjoy what gives pleasure and satisfaction. That is a completely different and an enjoyable facet of life.
She credits her success to her husband Amit Pradhan for his constant encouragement and support. She firmly believes that support of a family is very important to flourish and reach heights and feels blessed to have a family that has always supported and encouraged her in all her ventures.Having lead a life of fulfilment for nearly half a century, she seriously got back into world of art in Goa. Passion was ignited again and she continued to derive immense satisfaction as she pursued it with each passing year. Then, there was no looking back. She started exhibiting her works and till date has exhibited paintings in 38 exhibitions - National and International. She loves working on positive aspects portraying joy, celebration and beauty that life offers.
Amongst many awards received in arts, some prestigious ones are Indian Women Achievers Award in Arts in 2020, Spandan Award of Excellence in Arts (National) and Bhartiya Kalaa Vibhushan Award and Gold Award. She was part of “The World Record of Longest Painting” recognised by Golden Book of World Records.She was Member of the Jury in an International Painting Contest - Rang Ragini in 2020 & 2021.She has been actively involved in Charity shows for educating the underprivileged children by donating her paintings. She was part of the Charity show in Sept 2018 and donated paintings for raising funds for Kerala Chief Minister’s flood relief fund.
